First the interesting story.
This is an original Singer 222K Featherweight sewing machine that was used for about 10 years and then spent the next 50-60years in a closet.
It was purchased in 1957 in Paris, France. In 1957 France was using the same voltage as North America, 120 volts.
In the 1960’s France switched its electrical power from 120 to 230 volts. Most electrical appliances were switched to have 230 volt motors but this machines was not. As it would not operate on 230 volts it was put into a cupboard and languished there until now.
Although the 222K will no longer operate in France it will operate anywhere in North America as it has North American voltage of 120 volts.
