The serial number of this Featherweight is EP543779. This dates the machine to September 22, 1959.
It is one of only 7,500 Singer 222K Featherweights produced in 1959 for worldwide sales.
1959 Singer 222K machines were a transition year for the Singer badge. Some were red "S" badged machines and some were not.
It is estimated that about 3500 - 4000 1959 machines had the red "S" badge. This is not very many considering they were manufactured 63 years ago.
