This is another gorgeous1958 Singer 222 Featherweight that has complete decals, has a bright, clean shiny finish, sews very well and runs very quietly. This is another beautiful 222K.
If you have been looking for a 1958 Featherweight, either 221 or 222K, you probably have been having difficulty.
Singer USA stopped producing Featherweights in 1957. Singer UK only produced 5,500 Singer 221 machines and 5000 Singer 222K machines in 1958 for world wide distribution, mostly for sale in the UK, Canada and Australia.
The serial number is EN136440 which dates the 222K to March 17, 1958. This is the only date with assigned serial numbers for 222 machines in 1958.
There are very few usage marks as can be seen in the photographs.
Singer 222K machines were sold in Canada with Singer factory Canadian 120 volt Singer motors installed making the machines compatible with Canadian and US voltage.
The 222K Featherweights were then ready to plug into any wall outlet in North America however these machines were only sold in Canada.
This machine, including the motor, has been fully serviced, all parts thoroughly checked and cleaned, properly lubricated and then completely tested.
There are no missing or broken parts, no oily, brown cigarette smoke residue or other grunge to try to remove, no expensive repairs to be done, no surprises and no frustration.
The machine runs and sews very quietly, the light works, the bobbin winder works, hook is timed, the foot control has a range of speed, etc. Everything works as it should and it looks gorgeous.
Singer 222K Featherweights are considered by many to be the best sewing machine that Singer ever produced.
We have been selling Singer 222K Featherweights for almost 20 years and have sold over 500 Singer 222K machines.
